What is the difference between WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business API?

The WhatsApp Business app is free and for small businesses. You manage it manually from your phone. The WhatsApp Business API connects to your website or backend to send automated messages — order confirmations, shipping alerts, reorder prompts. You need the API for automation; the app is for direct conversations.

How do I add a WhatsApp button to my website in India?

Use a click-to-WhatsApp button with the URL format wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi, where 91 is India's country code and XXXXXXXXXX is your 10-digit WhatsApp Business number. Most India-focused website builders include this as a built-in widget. Place it on product pages, the cart page, and your contact page.

Can I take orders on WhatsApp and have them sync to my online store?

Yes, but with limits. Some store platforms let you create manual orders on behalf of customers. A better setup is sending customers a direct product link from WhatsApp — they click, add to cart, and check out on your website. The order then appears in your store dashboard automatically, with payment confirmed.

What is a wa.me link and how do I use it for my online store?

A wa.me link (e.g., wa.me/919876543210) opens a WhatsApp chat with your business number when clicked. Add a pre-filled message with ?text= to make it even easier — clicking the link opens WhatsApp with a message like 'I want to order from your store' already typed. Put it on every product page and in order confirmation emails.

How do I send automated order confirmations on WhatsApp?

Through the WhatsApp Business API connected to your store platform. When a customer places an order, the API triggers automatically and sends a confirmation message with the order summary. This requires a Business API account (via a BSP like Interakt, AiSensy, or Wati) or a store platform with built-in WhatsApp integration.
